Prometheus is one of the Titans; He was very kind toward humans. At the beginning of human history, they had no fire, and they had to eat everything uncooked and live in very warm places because they had no way to keep themselves warm. Prometheus stole fire from heaven to human world. He was punished because humans were forbidden to use fire. He was bound to a rock while a great eagle ate his liver everyday only to have it grow back to be eaten again the next day. Humans were also punished because they used the fire. Zeus ordered Hephaestus, the god of craftsmanship, to create Pandora, the first woman on earth. And he did, using water and earth. The gods gave her many talents; Aphrodite gave her beauty, Apollo music, Hermes persuasion, and so forth. Therefore, she was named as Pandora which means “all-gifted”.

When Prometheus stole fire from heaven, Zeus took revenge by presenting Pandora to Prometheus’ brother. Pandora had a jar which she was not to open under any circumstance. Driven by her natural curiosity, Pandora opened the box-jar, and all evil contained escaped and spread over the earth. That brings to more than 4,000 the number of positions lost in 18 months in the pottery  region. Wedgwood and other pottery factories made cuts earlier.
    Although a strong pound and weak markets in Asia play a role in the downsizing, the layoffs in Stoke have their roots in earthshaking social shifts. A spokesman for Royal Doulton admitted that the company "has been somewhat slow in catching up with the trend" toward casual dining. Families eat together less often, he explained, and more people eat alone, either because they are single or they eat in front of television; Even dinner parties, if they happen at all, have gone casual. In a time of long work hours and demanding family schedules, busy hosts insist, rightly, that it's better to share a takeout pizza on paper plates in the family room than to wait for the perfect moment or a "real" dinner party.     Yet the loss of formality has its down side.
