第三章 Science and Superstition:In spite of the rapid development of science and technology at the moment, superstition is still widespread. In China, for example, there is a general popularity of 8 and 4, while in most western countries, 13 is considered an unknown symbol, if the 13th of a month coincides with Friday, it will be called Black Friday. To make matters worse, these ideas are often swaying our emotions, dominating our choices, and even messing up our lives unconsciously. Can't science explain the relationship between perceptions of superstition and some interesting coincidence? The articles of this chapter will provide the answer. This chapter consists of five sections: an overview of the first section; reading comprehension of the second section; the language in use of the third section, the culture of the fourth section, and the writing of the fifth section. Finally, through the study of this chapter, hopefully you can build up a rightful interpretation of superstitions.3.1Lead-in:The first section is an overview.
