Today’s parents are overly concerned with success, they do all things for children, however, the writer argues that her success is a result of being allowed to the freedom to make mistakes and find her own way. 2.4Viewing and Listening:Going to college is a big step for young people. Parents of new students at New York University are helping their children move in. 2.5Speaking:In this section, students are required to form groups of 4-5 students. Share your freshman year experience with group members and prepare for a discussion which may center round the following questions: Did you enroll by yourself? Why or why not? ; What impressed you most in the orientation week at college?; What problems did you struggle with in the first month at college?; What abilities would you like to develop at college?.In addition,students are encouraged to use as many expressions you have learned as possible.
2.6Writing:In this section, on one hand, students are required to write a response to their parents’ email .Emails can be written in a less formal style than the equivalent letter. Then, they should exchange their writing with a classmate and evaluate each other’s writing including grammar mistakes, the use of tenses , words spelling and so on. At the same time, then can share their own feelings as freshman and their parents’feeling. On the other hand, students are allowed 30 minutes to write a CET-4 essay on the topic Learning Is a Daily Experience and Lifetime Mission in agreement with the type of reason and explanation. Moreover, they should write according to the requirements given.
