6.3Language Focus:In this section, two common types of double negatives are introduced and two sentence patterns of “No wonder …” and “As it turns out …” are interpreted and exercised afterwards.
6.4Viewing and Listening:China has many teenagers Internet addicts. They have grown dependent on the Internet, especially for video games. Some critics even call the Internet, as “electronic heroin.”Students are required to listen to the recording two or three times. Then fill in the blanks based on what they have heard to complete the following sentences.
6.5Speaking:In this section, students are required to make a group discussion according to the text. The discussion may center round the following questions: Should students’ smartphones be banned in class? Why or why not?
6.6Writing:In this section, students, on one hand, are allowed to write an opinion paragraph in support of/against a digital-free vacation. Exchange their writing with a classmate and evaluate each other’s writing according to the specific criteria.On the other hand, students are allowed 30 minutes to write sth. about practical writing----- a composition about a chart, a table, a graph or a cartoon- -followed the requirements given.
